Israeli attorney and activist Nitsana Darshan-Leitner has been at the forefront of the legal fight to defend Israel and combat terrorism for more than two decades. As President of Shurat HaDin – Israel Law Center, a Tel Aviv-based civil rights organization, she has pioneered the use of offensive litigation to challenge terrorist organizations, their financial networks, and campaigns aimed at delegitimizing the Jewish state, including the BDS movement.
Ms. Darshan-Leitner has led numerous legal campaigns to hold governments, financial institutions, organizations, and individuals accountable for supporting terrorism and other hostile actions against Israel. She has also taken legal action against efforts to discriminate against Israelis and Jewish communities. In one notable case, she won a significant victory against Airbnb over its decision to remove listings of Jewish-owned homes in Judea and Samaria.
Ms. Darshan-Leitner has also led efforts to confront the use of social media by extremist and terrorist groups to incite violence, spread antisemitism, and promote hatred online. Her initiatives have challenged major platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube, for hosting these groups and their content and enabling their activities online.
She is the co-author of HARPOON (Hachette Publishers), a bestselling book chronicling the collaboration between Israel’s Mossad, government agencies, and outside campaigners to financially weaken terrorist organizations. She has been recognized for her contributions to global legal activism, named one of the 50 most influential Jews by The Jerusalem Post in both 2016 and 2018, and included in TheMarker’s list of the 50 most influential Israeli women.
A mother of six, including triplets, Ms. Darshan-Leitner holds a law degree from Bar-Ilan University and an MBA from Manchester University.
